We can do ducks on the Riverfront, wildflowers or trees in Clifty Falls State Park or hoof it up the Heritage Trail 
for some birding.
If you want to get outside and learn more about nature call naturalist Kelly Misamore to set it up and we’ll hit the trail.

Games Released!

The Birdhouse Branches Out

 

The Birdhouse Discovery Center is the place for activity and fun. New to our line are the “Eyehand” game with fun memory and reflex games and “Music & Circuit” game that lets you use your own music with the game. Try any of our interactive video games before you buy. The J-mat, Boxing and Tennis are great fun too.

Discovery Center Expands Opportunities

 

The Discovery Center is now the place for cultural events and learning activities. We have hosted business meetings, school talks, birthday parties,

and 4-H group activities.

 

 Now with the addition of House Concerts the diversity of  the Discovery Center continues to be revealed. Other plans are being hatched as you read this so check our site often to see what fledges from The Birdhouse Discovery Center.

 

“House Concerts”

Start in November

A new monthly musical series will be held in the

Discovery Center upstairs at The Birdhouse.

These “House Concerts” are invitation only events offered on a first come, first serve basis and limited to 30 people. They will feature regional musicians performing original acoustic music. This low cost pitch- in event is a social and cultural gathering hosted by musicians Greg Ziesemer and Kriss Luckett. Let us know if you’re interested in an invitation and we’ll put you on the email list. Email Greg at greg@gregzmusic.com to get on the email list. 

 

Fall Kids Club

Schedule announced

The Discovery Center is also home to our Kids Club. Kids are invited to join The Birdhouse Kids Club, which meets each first and third Thursday of the month from 3:30—5:00 pm. The club is open to all children in first through sixth grades. Naturalist Kelly Misamore and Program Coordinator Bernadette Wickersham will facilitate the meetings, and promise the nature-oriented agenda will be “naturally fun”.

             A fee of $5.00 will be charged for each child for each meeting. Funds will be used for materials and snacks. After 5 club visit kids get a free kids club t-shirt. Call the store for more information at 273-1193.
